Say hello: Faded Ink & Faded Lines

In today’s Say Hello blog we’re chatting with Lloyd, who runs Faded Ink & Faded Lines at our Manchester site, Pollard Yard.

Thanks for speaking to us today Lloyd! Can you tell us a bit more about the 2 businesses and how you got started?

Faded Ink is professional laser tattoo removal and Faded Lines is the aesthetics side providing treatment to everyone, such as anti wrinkle injections, micro needling, fat dissolving injections & vitamin injections.

I Actually set up the business after the first lockdown as I was made redundant and thought it was a perfect time to start my own business; during the lockdown it gave me the opportunity and time to get everything sorted, it also kept me busy throughout a very weird year – I didn’t see all those lockdown coming.

I don’t think any of us did, it’s definitely been a challenging year. So, who’s in the team?

So it’s just me, I do my own marketing, social media, website management and of course the laser tattoo removal & aesthetic, it’s a huge learning curve and it’s keeping me busy but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am enjoying the challenge and being my own boss, I enjoy opening my studio doors everyday and looking back at how much I have achieved in such a short space of time and in the pandemic.

Is this your first studio space and how long have you been at Pollard Yard?

I signed for my container in July last year, I was so excited! This is my first studio and the first time running my own business, scary stuff!

What made you choose Manchester / Ancoats?

I live in Manchester and love it around Ancoats, such a great area and I love the container vibe at PY. I have lived here for years and I am loving the skyline at the moment, it’s really feeling like a big city but with love, I adore how Manchester pulls together when bad & good things happen, its a pleasure to be part of a city that cares for each other. Amazing.

Can you tell us one interesting fact about Faded Ink & Faded Lines?

Despite it being a new business, the customer service, pricing, aftercare and banter you will receive from me, I am very doubtful you will receive from anywhere else.

What do you think are the best parts of your job?

It’s got to be meeting the lovely people of Manchester.

… And the toughest?

I suppose the management of my website as I am not very technical so it can get very frustrating, and the social media, as you always I want to make sure that posts are reaching the right clientele.

Looking back at your career, is there any advice you would have given yourself at the beginning?

I have always wanted to work for myself but never had the courage to do so and I just wish that I had started it years ago.

Lastly, can you tell us what’s in store for Faded Ink & Faded Lines in 2021?

I am actually collaborating with a sleek & trendy barber shop in the Monton area and will be providing my services one day a week from there very soon, watch this space….
