Meanwhile in Bristol: 6 Awesome Independent Shops in Bristol

It can’t be denied, Bristol has got a pretty awesome independent shopping scene. We thought we would celebrate having six creative work hubs in the Bristol, by sharing six of our favourite independent shops.
Papersmiths, Boyce’s Ave
Independent store Papersmiths stock a beautiful range of stationary and paper goods. You’ll also find a carefully selected array of books and magazines. Pop in for a visit and you’re sure to be left feeling inspired.
Mon Pote Home, North Street
Mon Pote (or ‘my friend’ in French) can be found on North Street, Bedminster. The shop specialise in lifestyle, interiors and gifts, and was founded by friends Anna and Natalie. Mon Pote’s selection of goods is beautifully curated. They are well worth a visit.
Ivory Flowers, North Street
Ivory Flowers are another awesome independent on North Street. The store is owned by Xanthe Ivory, who is supported by a small and passionate team. Xanthe was inspired to launch Ivory Flowers by her upbringing in the Somerset countryside. And we’re glad she did.
Maybe Mabel, Clifton Arcade
Lauren Holloway is behind the wonderful brand of Maybe Mabel. Last year, she celebrated the launch of her store in the Clifton Arcade. Maybe Mabel’s bags are lovingly made, and Lauren has an ethical conscience. The leather used in the handbags is recycled from offcuts that would otherwise be sent to landfill. They are both pretty and practical.
Betty Rae Vintage, Fairfax Street
Betty Rae is an absolute goldmine if you’re into vintage shopping. They have a range of snazzy men’s and women’s clothing. You can find them on Fairfax Street, or you can order via their website.
Rise, Queens Road
You’ll find Rise on Queens Road above Friska. Rise contains a huge selection of classic and modern vinyl and CDs, books, and vintage reworked clothing. It’s easy to spend a few hours browsing.
And there you have it – six awesome independent shops in Bristol. Of course, there are tons more. Keep up with the latest Bristol creative news on our Facebook page.
