Meanwhile in Bristol

Meanwhile in Bristol: Free Bristol Fashion Show

We love supporting local businesses, especially when they’re friendly faces. This week, Deben House residents Katie Bill and Jessica Bennett will be working on a charitable Bristol Fashion show.

When?

The show takes place at 8pm on Thursday 26th May, in The Old Market Assembly, and entry is free.

What?

The show will be the finale of a creative project between local fashion design house Tail End and the women’s refuge Eden House. Vulnerable women from across Bristol have come together in collaboration with Fran Rennison to produce a collection for the catwalk. The event will also host a range of local talent with Bristol’s best.

Who?

During the show you’ll find an array of Bristol fashion names. Look out for Dollar Bill Print and Jessica May Presents, a.k.a Katie and Jessica of Deben House.

Dollar Bill Print

Katie Bill is the creative director of Dollar Bill Print. She uses the Digital sublimation technique, which requires her prints to be printed onto transfer paper with heat reactive dyes. These print outs are then transferred onto garments and fabrics in her industrial sized heat press.

Katie loves colour! She is inspired by everything around her, and is always taking photographs of her surroundings and especially the sky. A lot of her photographs which feature in her designs were taken when on holiday, palms and sunsets are her favourite scenes.

Jessica May Presents

Jessica May Presents is a Bristol based multidisciplinary textile designer. Specialising in Prints, perspex, plastics and accessories. Her accessories brand KoKoMo, is about bringing together playful statement Jewellery and costume pieces. With a mix of colour, structure and graphics. In the fashion show, is her Diamond Disco collection, inspired by light refraction colours and ephemeral movement of the dance floor. Bright solid colours and shapes work together with exaggerated fringing and textures.

Don’t forget, the show takes place at 8pm on Thursday 26th May, in The Old Market Assembly. See you there!
