Meanwhile Creative Job Description
Job Title: Facilities Manager
Job Location: Bristol, BS1
Closing date for applications: 8th May
Hours per week: 35
Salary: £15k-£17k (dependent on experience)
Responsible to: Managing Director
Meanwhile Creative is a young, fast-growing organisation based in central Bristol. We unlock vacant and derelict property via short-term ‘meanwhile’ contracts and repurpose them for creative or community use. Our pilot project began in the New Bridewell Police Station; we were able to offer 30 private studios, a social enterprise business incubator, a private gym and band rehearsal space, housing over 50 local businesses – artists, upholsters, woodworkers, app developers, journalists, and much else besides. We are currently in the process of moving to a new building as well as taking on several other buildings, and are looking for someone to join our team to facilitate this expansion, and to take on a managerial role at our premises.
This is an entry-level role with a lot of scope for progression in the company, and opportunities to make a tangible impact on it. Being the first point of contact for tenants, we are looking for someone with good communication and problem solving skills. As well as someone who is flexible, self-motivated and independent, who isn’t after a normal office job – often you will be left to get on with tasks and manage your own time. Knowledge of enterprise, Bristol culture and the arts is desirable but not essential.
Your job tasks will include, but will not be limited to:
Management of space – maintaining good relationships with tenants, being the external face of the organisation
Actively marketing available spaces, carrying out viewings and managing processes for new tenants
General administrative duties (e.g. record keeping, minute taking)
Basic book keeping tasks (organising petty cash, processing invoices)
Organising events and internal communications via notice boards, Facebook, Twitter and e-mail correspondence
Ensuring the statutory health and safety requirements are adhered to as well as keeping up to date with changes
Trouble shooting/reporting facility problems to managing director (e.g. maintenance issues)
Research tasks
Networking and general awareness of local news and developments, especially those related to small business, the local economy, arts and studio space
Working collaboratively with colleagues
Being aware of and looking for new opportunities
A hard working, problem solving attitude is absolutely essential as is familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel. Interviews will take place the week commencing 12th May, with the role starting very soon after. Please apply by sending your CV and a cover letter (no more than one page) telling us a bit about yourself and why you would be good for the role to enquiries@meanwhilecreative.co.uk.
For enquiries call Jack on 0117 244 3585.
