1) Cardiff Castle

This medieval castle is one of Cardiff’s main attractions. You could spend a whole day here if you wanted to, between a visit to the apartments and a tour of the Clock Tower.

2) City Hall & Alexandra Gardens

The City Hall is Cardiff’s centre of local government, if you’re lucky enough to be invited to an event there, you’ll see the inside of the building.

But, even if you can’t get in, a stroll around the garden is still a nice way to spend a sunny afternoon.

 3) Penarth Pier

Penarth Pier is the ideal spot for a romantic walk. The Pavilion includes a cafe and restaurant overlooking the Bristol channel, a little retail area, a gallery and a community cinema.

4) The Arcades

The Arcades are one of the main shopping areas in Cardiff. Here you can find many independent shops and restaurants.

5) Cardiff Bay

Cardiff Bay is the heart of the city’s vibrant social life. The waterfront, besides the great view on the bay, offers plenty of attractions, from eateries to boat trips and exhibitions.

6) Castle Coch

Also known as the Red Castle, this historical site hosts a wide range of events, including workshops, tours, heritage and art activities, and living history and live performances.

7) Roath Lake Park

Whether you feel like going on an Autumnal walk, having an ice-cream at the kiosk in the Botanic Garden or hiring a boat to cross the lake, Roath Park is the perfect spot to escape the city…without actually leaving the city.

8) St Fagan’s National History Museum

Go back in time with a trip to St Fagan’s Museum of Welsh Life, walk around the Castle or get lost in the Rose Garden.

9) Principality Stadium

Also known as the Millennium Stadium, the national stadium is an iconic sports and music venue.

10) The National Museum
