Meanwhile in Cardiff: 10 Christmas Gifts Handmade in Wales

It’s the most wonderful time of the year again. Did you know the average family spends almost £1000 on Christmas every year? Rather than hoarding imported plastic gifts that won’t be kept after your spring clean, why not celebrate your local creative scene and give something handmade and long-lasting this Christmas? Here’s a list of 10 Christmas gifts handmade in Wales. Of course, we are extra excited about Cardiff goodies and those made in Meanwhile House Cardiff.

1) Bags by RURAL KIND

Mike and Nia are the duo behind RURAL KIND. They value quality craftsmanship, durable materials and sustainability. Their bags are handmade in Wales. We love what they do.

2) Knitwear by GoldFreckles

GoldFreckles is a knitwear brand created by Saskia Thomas. Saskia makes beautifully snug hats, endless scarfs and cosy cardigans. All handmade in Wales.

3) Artwork by Kamaria Pryce Designs

Kamaria Pryce designs and draws artwork and calligraphy in Wales. In her online store you’ll find watercolour paintings, gift cards and notebooks. All perfect stocking fillers. She was also born in Bristol, so we like her even more.

4) Lampshade and Cushion Class

Little Sewing Works can be found in Meanwhile House Cardiff. Founder, Cynthia, both runs an online shop and workshops. You can buy gift vouchers for her workshops and classes on her website. Click here to browse.

5) Christmas Crackers for Doggos

You absolutely can’t forget the dog this Christmas. Thankfully, Emma-Louise Graney has got you covered. Her business, made with woof, specialises in tasty handmade treats for your four-legged friends.

6) Handmade Teepees

Check out LittleMeTeepee. You guessed it, teepees for little ones, handmade in Cardiff. We secretly want one for ourselves.

7) Ceramics by Louise Hall

Louise Hall is a ceramics artist based in Cardiff. Every piece is unique, and the ceramics are glazed with an assortment of colours. We love these pretty pastels. Her work is stocked in a number of shops around the U.K.

8) Textured Gold Rings

If you’re buying for someone special, check out Stephen Cichocki’s Wooden Gold Etsy store. His textured gold rings have proven popular across the globe, and they’re all handmade in Cardiff.

9) Commissioned pet portraits and prints

If you’re buying for an animal enthusiast, Emma Cawston’s work is what you need. She sells original works, prints, gift cards and commissions in her online store. Another awesome maker from Cardiff.

10) Adorable Kids Clothing

Prettty Little Legs Clothing make beautiful handmade clothing for kids. They have a huge selection of fabrics to choose from, and take commissions if you have something bespoke in mind.
