Life: Autumn 2017 – Winter 2018
Location: 21 St Thomas Street, Bristol, BS1 6JS
The Building: St Thomas Studios is a 40,000 square foot building on St Thomas Street, Bristol. It is made up of three floors and consists of a variety of different sized spaces. The ground floor was for the use of makers, and the first and second floors were open plan office space with some smaller studios available.
St Thomas Studios was redeveloped in 2019. Rather than this huge central Bristol building sitting empty and dormant, we unlocked it for temporary creative use in Autumn 2017.
It was the perfect option for people looking for a highly affordable workspace or project space in a city centre location, who didn’t want to be tied into a lengthy contract.
The lower prices advertised for the building reflected the short to mid-term leases that we are able to offer.
Size: 40,000 sq
Access: 24 hours
Best Bits: Close proximity to Temple Meads and city centre, 24 hour access, collaborative space used by hundreds of different creatives and businesses, highly affordable.
Who was there? Artists, designers, festivals, makers and small businesses
The Location: You’ll find St Thomas Studios on St Thomas Street, just off of Victoria Street in the centre of Bristol. Just a mile from the M32 and less to the Bath and Wells roads, the site is well placed for coming in and out of Bristol from both the north and south. Public transport links are second to none with the city’s main train station, Temple Meads, just minutes away on foot.
