Meanwhile in Bristol: Treasure Chest Escape Room

See what happened when we tested Meanwhile’s first ever Escape Room experience, ‘Treasure Quest’ in Pithay Studios.

Founded by the entrepreneurial Adam Hameed, ‘Treasure Quest’ is Bristol’s newest Escape Room experience. We went along not knowing what to expect, other than size of the space that Adam had taken on, and that he was opening an Escape Room in Pithay Studios.

Having downed a quick coffee in the cafe, we headed down a corridor and entered a whole new world of pirates, treasure and puzzles through an unassuming orange door. What had previously been a plain studio space with little natural light had been completely transformed into an immersive Escape Room – hats off to Adam for incredible imagination, graft and attention to detail!

We stashed our stuff as game-master Adam set the scene and transported us to a prison on a tropical island. The goal: work as a team, find the clues, solve the puzzles and escape the room before the hourglass runs out.

The verdict? We thoroughly enjoyed it. As a team of five (and with a fair bit of help from Adam) we had just enough mental prowess between us to crack the codes and just about managed to escape the room in time.

We definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something different to do in Bristol as a team, group or family.

If we’d no help from Adam? I think we’d still be in there now…
