Pithay Studios

The Fastest Co-working in the West

It’s fair to say it has been a long road leading to where Pithay Studios is today. Less than a year ago the 20 000 square foot space was largely painted orange, littered with tanning beds and exercise bikes and by all accounts falling into disrepair. I now write from a colourful, thriving work hub, full of creative, entrepreneurial and studios folk.

Our latest development is the introduction of GPON. What’s GPON you say? You mean you don’t know? Well, neither did I. It stands for Gigabit Passive Optical Network which in layman’s terms means bloody fast internet. Our man John and his team have been journeying from Essex to run strands of fibre from our ex-vacuum cleaner storage cupboard to every room and desk in the building.

Our lovely tenants all have their own router meaning they can either hardwire in via a cat5 cable or just use their own private wireless network. Speeds are about 25mb/s download and upload meaning its fricking great for anyone working with big media files (or downloading whole series of Game of Thrones in HD). Plus, the service doesn’t cut out or drop, ever, which means Team Meanwhile can sleep well at night in the knowledge that everyone is procrastinating with new found efficiency.

Whilst our private studios are at capacity, you can take advantage of the mega internet in our open-plan desk space. What’s more, we’re still the cheapest about, only £90pcm all-in, beat that! Give Jack a shout if you’d like to arrange a viewing, reach him via jack@meanwhilecreative.co.uk.
