We’ve been running creative workspace in Bristol for over five years now. Along the way we’ve learned that Bristol is a happening place when it comes to things to do, and in the Summer it just gets even better. Here are 17 of our favourite things to do in Bristol (or just a short distance away).
Venturing beyond Bristol city centre will bring you to loads of awesome places to stay.
There are so many beautiful countryside escapes on Bristol’s doorstep. Check out these super fun yurts near Bristol.
The Crane Treehouse by Canopy and Stars is new for 2017. Located in the Bristol Harbourside, it is perfectly located for seeing the city.
If you’re looking for things to do without a strict budget, you’ll love this luxury treehouse (pictured) located just outside of Bristol.
If we’re lucky with the weather, we are spoiled for choice when it comes to outdoor swimming!
Bristol Lido can be found in Clifton, so you don’t need to venture far. Whether you fancy a swim, spa day or meal the Lido is for you.
Portishead Outdoor Pool is heated with eco energy, so even if we aren’t blessed with hot temperatures it’s well worth a visit.
Why not try freshwater swimming at the beautiful Henleaze Lake?
Warleigh Weir (pictured) is another beautiful spot for freshwater swimming. Though it’s a little bit further away, we think you’ll agree it makes for a wonderful thing to do this summer.
Beese’s Riverside Bar and Tea Gardens are open from Spring to September, and make for a great spot to unwind without leaving the city, particularly when you’re travelling there by boat
It doesn’t get much more Bristol than Yurt Lush. Not only are their dishes absolutely divine, their ingredients are sourced sustainably from the South West. The Yurts are pretty cool too.
Cox and Baloney’s Tearoom and Bar is an adorable vintage-style tearoom. Looking at their menu has made us feel super hungry, we think visiting is a great thing to do this summer.
Whether you’re vegan or not, VX Bristol is well worth a visit for some indulgence. From burgers and hot dogs to fries and chocolate cake, when it’s vegan what’s not to love?
Folk House Cafe can be found on Park Street. The cafe host all kind of courses, from meditation to calligraphy, marketing to poetry. It’s the perfect place to try something new this summer.
We have some amazing routes both around the City centre and to places beyond. Here are some of our favourites.
The Bristol to Bath railway path (also known as Route 4) is a tranquil cycle between the two cities.
If you’re happy to cycle both on tracks and roads and for slightly longer distances, the route to Chew Valley is a great one.
The Strawberry Line runs between Yatton and Cheddar, and is a perfect scenic route. If the journey to the track is too long for you to cycle, it’s just a short train journey from Bristol.
Bristol Sunset Cinema show your favourite films in outdoor locations around the city. From kids films to horror films, there is something for everyone. Films begin in September.
Bristol Doors Open Day is taking place 7th-10th September 2017. You can visit a number of places and hidden gems across the city that are usually closed to the public. Check our their website for the 2017 lineup.
